With the help of Geunhee Yu Covenant Fund, the Youth Brass Band of First Tongan Christian Church spreads God’s love through music. During the last several months, FTCC offered free lessons, provided instruments, and had concerts at various community events. Siosifa Uesi, Director of Bands, says, “Thank you for your kind gesture in helping the First Tongan Christian Church in furthering the ministry by “Spreading God’s Love Through Music.” This past couple of months have been filled with many GOD Moments such as: Love, growth and service; not only for those we have played for, but also the young kids in the band.”

In the Tongan culture, churches, and Tongan communities would gather and put together events called, “Koniseti,” which means, “Concert” in English.Koniseti’s are basically fundraisers, the only difference is the meaning behind the Koniseti. Raising money is a factor, but the main idea and focus of the Koniseti is for the Youth Brass Band to showcase songs they have learned, and present it to the people.
